Book 16 — The Universal Spirit
by Thomas Troward
A brief introduction to Judge Thomas Troward was given in Book 4.
The Foreword to Book 11 is an appreciation of the author by his friend, Paul Derrick.
The six chapters constituting The Universal Spirit were originally published as a series of articles in a publication I have hitherto been unable to trace. They constitute a single essay headed The Hidden Power which is included in a collection of Troward's essays currently published under that title by DeVorss & Company, PO Box 550, Marina del Rey, CA 90294, ISBN: 0-87516-705-5.
Having already re-published sixteen of the essays in the collection, I highlight the contents of this particular essay under a new title. My reasons are as follows:
- In this brief work, Troward "makes sense" of the mysteries of spirit more clearly and succinctly than any other writer known to me.
- The contents of this little "book" illuminate not only Troward's other writings but also many of the essays, "lectures" and articles by various authors which may be found on this CD.
- The conflicts which currently threaten the destruction of the human race on Earth cannot be resolved without raising the consciousness of much greater numbers of men and women towards recognition of the spirit that pervades the Universe and everything in it, including ourselves. I feel it is a most appropriate time to "dust off" Troward's insightful contribution and bring it to the attention of at least a few discerning readers who may thereby be both enlightened and enthused to spread his timeless message more widely.
